Misty Red River Gorge Elopement in Stanton, Kentucky with Kyra & Erika
MEET KYRA & ERIKA
During my consultation with Kyra & Erika, they shared with me that they enjoyed my moodier edits. When I began the drive towards the Red River Gorge for their elopement in October, I knew with all the mystical fog and rain that we wouldn’t have any problems capturing some wonderfully moody images that day.
While we waited for the rest of the guests to arrive, Kyra & Erika went ahead with their private vows. This very moment is why I absolutely adore elopements. They allow for minimal distractions so that the couple can truly focus on what the day is about — each other.
We then went on a hike to take care of some portraits before meeting up with the guests at the ceremony spot. We found this little spot when I met with the couple months prior to scout it out and make sure it’d be easily accessed by their elderly guests. Unrehearsed and natural, it was such a touching ceremony, complete with Erika asking Kyra’s sons’ permission to marry their mommy (to which they jointly responded “yes”). Precious!
We wrapped things up with family portraits and saying our goodbye’s before the couple and their guests headed out to celebrate. Needless to say, it was a magical afternoon and I was very happy to hear that their day (and images) were everything they wanted and more.
